The Menu directory contains all the goods and services that are available for sale to customers. Only items from the Menu are available on POS terminals for sale. The system enables a single catalogue of menu items to be maintained for a small cafe and an organisation with multiple departments. The same structure provides a single menu for multiple outlets grouped in a chain.

The Menu system is a main part of the Tillypad XL Manager program. It allows the user to make settings for items and groups in the menu, modifiers, concurrences and price schedules. The settings make available only those menu items that can be offered on a certain POS terminal at a certain moment of time.

Information from the Menu system is used by other Tillypad XL Manager systems and by Tillypad XL POS as well.

The Menu system incorporates various directories, directories to manage drafts and draft menus and operational reports for calculating purchase prices.

The Menu system incorporates the following directories:

The Menu directories should be populated with data in the process of tuning the Tillypad XL Manager system. Later, any changes can be made to the directories.

The directories and operational reports are opened from the Menu menu in the program main menu.

Drafts are intended to prepare a collection of changes to be applied at a certain moment to the menu. Drafts can be activated either automatically, at a preset time, or manually.

The following directories are used to manage drafts and draft menus:

Menu item purchase price is calculated on the basis of stock item purchase prices, which are to be deducted as a result of the sale of the above menu items.

The Purchase price operational report shows at which prices stock items were run on the store. The operational report can be displayed for all menu items sold across selected store groups ( Menu item purchase price by store group ) or for selected menu items in all store groups ( Menu item purchase price by menu item ).
